Preferences allow you to choose the settings you desire for scanning for audio and video files.

These settings include:
  • supported audio extensions
  • minimum audio file size
  • audio filename pattern
  • include path (if audio filename pattern specified) - indicates to include the full filename path and name when matching.
  • supported video extensions
  • minimum video file size
  • video filename pattern
  • include path (if video filename pattern specified) - indicates to include the full filename path and name when matching.
  • audio player used (iTunes can be used if you desire)
  • video player used (iTunes can be used if you desire)

Preferences Settings - Media Finder for iTunes

  • Include if media not in iTunes - by default this is enabled. This results in the scan finding only media that is not already in your iTunes Music Library
  • Supported audio extensions - displays the list of supported audio file extensions (comma-delimited).
    You can edit the list, add to it or replace with you own extensions.
    Use the check boxes to select the desired extensions to use.
    Use Select All and Select None to select all the audio extensions or select no audio extensions.
  • Minimum audio file size - a minimum file size for audio file can be selected. (optional)
  • Audio match with - specifies a pattern such as 'A*' (include all audio files beginning with A) to match against.
  • Audio include path - if selected an audio match with pattern is specified, indicates to match again the audio file full filename.
  • Supported video extensions - displays the list of supported video file extensions (comma-delimited).
    You can edit the list, add to it or replace with you own extensions.
    Use the check boxes to select the desired extensions to use.
    Use Select All and Select None to select all the video extensions or select no video extensions.
  • Minimum video file size - a minimum file size for video file can be selected. (optional)

  • Audio player - specifies the audio player to use when playing a found audio file.
    Click the Browse button to select an alternative audio player.
    Click the Use iTunes button if you want to use iTunes as the audio player.
    The default audio player is the Open Source VideoLAN player.
  • Video player - specifies the video player to use when playing a found video file.
    Click the Browse button to select an alternative video player.
    Click the Use iTunes button if you want to use iTunes as the video player.
    The default audio player is the Open Source VideoLAN player.
  • OK - select ok to use the Preferences settings and close the window.
  • Apply - select Apply to use the Preferences settings and stay in the Preferences window.
  • Use defaults - reverts to the defaults.
  • Cancel - exit the Preferences window.
